T'o Know You
Written by Paul Landis Delaune

To know you is to know Beauty.
Helen of Troy, Juliet,
Queen of Sheba, Delilah,
History has given you many names.

To know you is to know Desire.
Your beautiful eyes, soft voice,
Your thrilling touch, tender kiss,
The sparks that kindle passion in my heart.

To know you is to know Woman.
You are many things,
Have done many deeds,
Beneath it all you are woman.

To know you is to know Joy.
Your stunning features, exciting presence,
Music of your laughter, intriguing smile,
Happy is my heart when you are near.

To know you is to know Sadness.
Often have we been apart,
Now you are there, I am here,
An empty desert between your heart and mine.

To know you is to know Inspiration.
Your zeal to enjoy life,
Your desire to follow your dreams,
My spirit sings its wonder.

To know you is to know Confusion.
The peace of calm, anxiety of storm,
The wisdom of patience, emptiness of hunger,
Duel emotions stir within, bless my heart.

To know you is to know Intoxication.
To sip from your cup of affection,
To taste the spice of your soul,
‘Tis heady wine, indeed, m’lady.

To know you is to know Love.
Bewitched by your magical spell,
Caught in your web of delight,
You strum the chords of my heart.
